Advisor to the Sovereign Council Affirms Sudan’s Commitment to Facilitating Humanitarian Access and Strengthening International Cooperation

Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail Mahmoud, Advisor to the Sovereign Council on Organizations and Humanitarian Affairs, met with a visiting European Union delegation to Sudan led by Wolfram Vetter, as part of efforts to strengthen joint cooperation in the humanitarian field.
The Sovereign Council Advisor welcomed the visiting delegation, praising the importance of international partnerships in supporting humanitarian efforts and affirming the Sudanese government’s commitment to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to all citizens without discrimination.
Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to continuing to strengthen cooperation with international organizations, thereby contributing to improving the humanitarian response and meeting the needs of those affected across the country.
For his part, the head of the European delegation emphasized the European Union’s support for Sudan’s unity, which promotes stability and supports humanitarian and development efforts.
He explained that the Sudanese government rejects the measures taken by the militias regarding the registration of organizations operating in areas under their control, as this constitutes a violation of international law.
This meeting is part of Sudan’s efforts to expand cooperation with international partners and coordinate efforts aimed at addressing current humanitarian challenges.
